What We Do

01.

— Community Development-CoD Lab

We promote social movement and interests of poor and marginalized people at grassroots at all levels of policy formulation and implementation so that poverty reduction strategies effectively target and benefit them. CUWEDE believes that citizen participation in planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of poverty reduction programmes should be viewed within the broader agenda of increasing democratic space, public accountability and transparency for the benefit of the poor under the decentralized governance.

02.

— Innovative Poverty Action (IPA) agenda

CUWEDE through this unique intervention has launched a poverty movement dubbed; “Nebbi Thursday Economic War on Poverty” and is operating a skill training lab called; CoD Lab Vocational and Business Training Institute which currently focus on addressing the following specific programme areas; Integrated Household Agriculture, Skills Training and Entrepreneurship, Clean energy, Environment, Water and Sanitation, Social protection, justice system and disaster responses

04.

— Organizational Strengthening

We strive to become the champion and the best organisation in Nebbi and West Nile sub-region through development and adoption of recommended policies and systems. We have fully constituted Board and Management and are highly placed to attract National and International Volunteers to regularly come and interact with our team and beneficiaries. In that way, we are inspired  to learn as well as provide learning both at local and broader level for the benefit of sustaining all our interventions and adoption of proven approaches.

The Five Program Logic Approach Of CUWEDE

  • We are sorry

kind-hearted, and feel very bad about the degrading situations that the young people and women find themselves in. In this way, we are inspired to contribute citizenship values – voluntarism and patriotism; the spirit of unselfish concern for the welfare of all

  • We are simple

simple people putting together a simple operation that runs like a simple business – has very efficient procedures, easy to understand and is tight on spending. This allows openness, trust and transparency.

  • We are small

mall is beautiful, but with innovative and at times crazy ideas – acting locally but thinking globally. But all these, managed by young and enthusiastic team of staff and volunteers, still trying to ask “Why the small and slow pace of grassroots development with all these funding, programme and approaches?”

  • We are strong

bold and confident about ourselves and our capabilities to make the case (at least) and make the move (at most) for citizens’ rights. But we shall enable the citizens to exercise their rights correctly and professionally.

  • We are serious

connecting young people, women and men, professionals and leaders to creative and innovative ideas nationally and globally, through interchange of ideas, skills, and information. We are positional, competitively and firmly placing ourselves for the challenge
